The Forums

The sims forums can be a very fun place to be... if you know what you're doing. You wind up doing something wrong, and you might offend a lot of people!

•Stick around and make friends; a lot of people appreciate it.
•Don't beg-- it's offending to people
•Always help out!
•Always thank someone who gifts you!

Now that the unofficial rules are finished, we can get to the nitty-gritty on the posting codes. They're relatively simple in their theory, but can even sometimes trip up a veteran forumer.

The most important posting technique is probably a picture. To do this, you first have to get an account for Picasa/ PhotoBucket/ any other photo sharing website. Next, post your image on this site. When you've done that, right-click the image and select "open in new tab." Once that's done, you'll have to go up to the URL tab and copy the address. In your post, paste in the URL to the picture. Then, at the beginning of the URL, type . Viola! You have posted a picure!

Another code is size. At the beginning of your text, type in the code . Fill in the blank with the number you want to size the text to. Then, at the end of the text, type . There you have it; sizable text!

You can also employ the "size" code and apply it for color, by typing "color" where the word "size" is, and naming a color instead of the number. Always pick "preview post" to make sure they have the code for the color you want, be it platinum or aquamarine, so you can get the full effect.

The very last thing you'll want for the forum is a signature. To start, go to the "My Preferences" tab at the top of the page.

(Hi, if you read this, I'm hoping you won't mind that I'm recycling this picture :))

Then, you can fill in the box that says "signature" with anything you like, using the codes employed above. If you want to use multiple images, I suggest you go to bit.ly for some URL shortenings.

*Sighs* That should be all you would need to know about the forums! Hopefully everyone enjoys this little lesson. Have an awesome day, simmers!

 2. Thanks! :) And yeah, I think that'd be good (unless you need to know anything else).
